Vintage Alaska Native Carved Walrus Jewelry Lot – Bracelets & Necklace

Wonderful group of three vintage Alaska Native carved jewelry pieces, believed to date approximately to the mid-20th century, circa 1950s–1970s. The collection includes two carved bracelets and one necklace, all featuring Arctic wildlife themes and traditional natural materials.

The first bracelet features individually carved walrus and polar bear plaques, accented with incised and pigmented details. The walruses feature distinctive orange-red tusks. The carved cream-colored elements appear consistent with walrus ivory, while the brown spacer pieces may be baleen or another natural material.

The second bracelet features a series of individually carved seal figures, each decorated with incised details highlighted with dark pigment. These carvings also appear consistent with walrus ivory and are separated by brown natural-material spacer beads, possibly baleen.

The necklace consists of numerous elongated, hand-carved cream-colored beads believed to be walrus ivory. At the center is an unusual fan-shaped pendant fashioned from what appears to be a naturally patterned section of marine-mammal tooth or similar material. The pendant displays attractive natural tan, brown and dark gray coloration with radiating growth patterns.

All three pieces are strung on cord and display variations, tool marks and irregularities consistent with individually worked natural materials.
