Vintage early Mattel Barbie lot featuring two #850 straight-leg Barbie dolls plus an assortment of vintage Barbie clothing and accessories.
Dolls included:
1960 #4 Ponytail Barbie #850 – Brunette
Early heavy/solid-body Barbie with flesh-tone vinyl, blue eyes/blue eyeliner, red lips and painted red fingernails/toenails. One foot is marked “JAPAN.” Buttocks marked:

These features are consistent with the 1960 No. 4 Ponytail Barbie. The original ponytail hair has been cut/shortened and is no longer in its original hairstyle. Includes the black-and-white striped one-piece swimsuit, which is the correct style originally supplied with early Ponytail Barbie dolls.
1964–65 Bubble Cut Barbie #850 – Blonde
Straight-leg blonde Bubble Cut Barbie with blue eyes and vintage painted features. Buttocks marked:

The addition of “Patented” identifies this body marking with the 1964–65 production period.
Clothing/accessories included: black-and-white striped Barbie swimsuit; white Barbie Registered Nurse uniform, navy/red-lined nurse cape and nurse cap; striped hooded knit top; red jacket with white trim; tagged white sleeveless collared Barbie body blouse; tagged pink knit Barbie top; red plaid zippered travel bag; and pair of small white shoes marked Hong Kong -3 6 and Hong Kong -3 12. The Hong Kong shoes are believed to be period fashion-doll/clone accessories rather than early Mattel Barbie shoes.
Several garments retain original Barbie® © BY MATTEL labels. Clothing represents a mixture of early vintage Barbie fashions and separates and is not represented as complete individual outfit sets.
Both dolls and all clothing/accessories are vintage and show age/use. Please review photos closely for condition, staining, discoloration, wear, missing accessories and other imperfections. The #4 Ponytail Barbie's hair has been cut/altered. The white tagged body blouse has yellow residue/glitter-like material present. Everything shown is included and sold together as one lot.
