RARE Vintage Jorge Wilmot Style Mexican Art Pottery Stoneware Iguana Vase
The form and decorative style are consistent with mid-century Tonalá studio pottery and are reminiscent of works by Jorge Wilmot, who was instrumental in developing high-fire ceramics in the region.
The vase is signed on the base (see photo). Attribution to Jorge Wilmot cannot be guaranteed, and it may represent the work of a Tonalá artisan working in his style or workshop tradition.
