This listing includes 51 vintage newspapers, all acquired together from an estate where they had been carefully stored inside an old suitcase for many years.
These newspapers display typical age-related wear consistent with vintage newsprint, including yellowing, foxing/spotting, edge fraying, small rips or tears, creases, and general handling wear. Please refer to the final photos for representative examples of their overall condition.
A majority of the issues feature illustrations and editorial cartoons by Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Carey Orr.
Nearly all of the newspapers date from late 1944 through June 1945, covering the closing months of World War II.
Please note that the newspapers retain the characteristic scent of old paper from decades of storage. While there is no indication of mold or mildew, collectors with particularly sensitive noses should expect a noticeable vintage paper odor and may wish to air or otherwise treat the newspapers before displaying or storing them.
