Antique Primitive Blacksmith Branding Wrought Iron Letters & Wall Rack Folk Art
Salvaged from an old blacksmith shop in Central Wisconsin!
Wooden wall hanging rack, with twenty-five blacksmith made wrought iron branding letters.
Missing the iron for the letter "W" (although the letter "M" iron could make use as a substitute).
Original hand-carved wooden rack labeled A–Z, with individually forged iron letter stamps hanging below. Great example of early shop organization and craftsmanship.
Likely used for marking or stamping metal work—tools, hardware, or maker’s marks—right at the forge.
Nice age and patina throughout—wood shows honest wear, and iron letters have surface oxidation consistent with long-term shop use.
Rack measures approx. 50” long
Each branding iron measures approx. 13”
