Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Textile Qilin Butterfly Panel Qing Republic
Late Qing Dynasty / Early Republic Period, circa 1880–1925.
Square hand-embroidered silk panel depicting a scholar or immortal mounted upon a qilin within a field of butterflies, floral medallions, and scrolling vines, accented with metallic thread and enclosed by a silk brocade border. Silk gauze backing with old paper inventory label to reverse.
Approximately 9.75 x 10.5 inches.
Very good antique condition overall with expected age-related wear.
Some loose embroidery threads and scattered thread snarls.
Minor fraying and separation along portions of the outer edges and border.
Light creasing and waviness to the silk consistent with age.
Minor wear to the silk backing.
No major tears, large losses, or repairs observed.
