Antique c1890s Edwardian Brass Astronomical Terrestrial Telescope & Tripod Stand Bausch & Lomb
An outstanding c1895-1910 large brass terrestrial refracting telescope fitted with a Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. 95cm E.F. objective lens, mounted on a tripod stand.
While there are no markings or engraving on the brass telescope, this was very likely used for terrestrial observation, surveying, birding/game observation, or possibly for military observation use.
Telescope is completely functional. There are no cracks or damage to the refractor viewing sight nor on the lens.
The tripod is likely not original to the telescope, and appears to be a circa 1920s tripod stand for surveying equipment.
The brass scope itself measures approximately 39” long. As pictured it measures about 63” tall from the floor to the top of the telescope. With the legs extended, the tripod measures approximately 44” from leg to leg.
