Antique Bentwood Pantry Box Primitive Wood Sugar Box Hand Painted Folk Art AAFA 1800s

An antique late 19th century primitive bentwood pantry box with original gray-blue painted surface and hand painted “Sugar” lettering. This is a genuine period example with lapped seam construction secured by small tacks and a fitted lid. The paint shows honest age, wear, and surface loss consistent with long-term use. The hand painted script has a strong folk art quality and appears period to the piece, with a naive, freehand cursive style that suggests it was done by an untrained hand, possibly by a child.

Measures approximately 10” round by 6” tall

Some slight separation around the rim of the lid, a separation crack on the top of the lid, likely caused by drying over time
