Vintage 1910s Harley Davidson Early Rider's Leather Knife Sheath Live to Ride Skull
Here is a great item! It is a vintage knife sheath. Made of solid leather. Has a single snap that works great.Has a Harley Davidson type motif. A rider wearing a leather helmet and large goggles. Has a great leather jacket. There are Wings above the helmet and on both sides of sheath. There is a logo "Ride To Live" on left side of face. And what looks like "Live To Ride" on right side. Looks like '04 NA__, or RA__ on a panel on sheath body. Maybe Race, or Natl?I do know Harley Davidson completed it's 1st Prototype in 1904. They ran it in the Milwaukee Race that year, and came in 4th place. The sheath is 8 3/4" in length. It could accommodate a knife blade approximately 5 1/4" long and 1 1/4" wid
Its a survivor...it can hardly be read but when a little moisture is applied, the skull is easier to see. Possibly could be darkened with a leather polish although I did not attempt.
Photos where the sheath is darker is after it was rubbed with a damp washcloth
