A beautiful, early cobalt stoneware jug. The guy who sold this to me said he picked it up in Pennsylvania years ago, so likely attributed to that area. The jug is almost flawless with no cracks or chips. It is likely about 2 gallons in size, measuring 11.25" x 6.75" in diameter. Most certainly was used for maple syrup and still smells like it if you put your nose to the lip!
