When pulled, the unusual wheel arrangement gives the bird a characteristic animated, bobbing movement.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis example is particularly desirable for its remarkably well-preserved original painted surface, retaining strong yellow, cream, black and blue feather decoration throughout. Most importantly, the bird retains its original Steiff metal button mounted to the side of the head—an identification feature frequently absent from surviving examples.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe toy measures approximately 5.75 inches long and retains its original wooden wheels and wire chassis. The painted surface exhibits expected scattered wear, losses and evidence of age consistent with an authentic early children's toy, but remains exceptionally attractive overall.
